Dustin Poirier asked to win the title as soon as Khabib retired

The American boxer believes that his weight class should continue once Khabib is no longer interested in returning. Khabib’s announcement of his retirement created the opportunity for many UFC light boxers to aim for a title, especially his defeats.

In particular, the war at UFC 257, where Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor will face off in the first event of 2021. This is just a normal match when President Dana White resolves to return to defend the title of Khabib. However, Dustin Poirier wants the UFC to quickly give his chance to compete for the title once Khabib is sure to retire.

Despite this wish, the possibility of the match between Dustin and Conor being promoted to the title competition is very low, because, also, the top two punches Tony Ferguson and Charles Olivera are also competing for the title.
